A residential garage in Mount Pearl was destroyed by fire last night.
At about 6:00 p.m., crews responded to a home on Mortimore Drive.

Firefighters had to contend with an amount of paint, solvents, and other flammable liquids, which made extinguishing the fire challenging.
There were no injuries reported in the fire, and no damage to any nearby structures, however the garage and all its contents, including a van, were completely destroyed.
In an act of goodwill, the firefighters of Mount Pearl Station were gifted a pizza supper from Peter’s Pizza, after having to leave their barbecue supper on the table to fight this structure fire.
