Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced funding for Kids Help Phone and seniors in his address to the nation today.
The federal government is investing $7.5-million to Kids Help Phone for more councillors and trained volunteers.
Trudeau spoke directly to kids and acknowledged that the past few weeks have been tough as the world they know is changing.
He encourages children to reach out to Kids Help Phone any time of day by texting 686868, calling 1-800-668-6868 or online at kidshelpphone.ca.
Trudeau then addressed seniors. He says they are particularly vulnerable and even if they are safe and isolated it is not easy on them.
The federal government will invest $9-million through the New Horizons for Seniors Program to United Way for services like health check-ins and grocery delivery.
