There is a new website for people who have been tested for COVID-19 to access their test results.
Government and the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information on Tuesday afternoon launched a new website so people in the province who have been tested for COVID-19 can securely access their test results online from a computer or mobile device.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says its an important tool in the fight against COVID-19.
She says by letting people check their personal COVID results online, they will free up time for healthcare workers to spend on contact tracing.
Once you’ve taken an in-person test, you can visit this website. You then enter your name, birthdate, MCP and MCP expiry number to access your results.
If you choose not to review your results online, a member of Public Health will call you with your results. It will tell you if your test result is negative, or if the result is not yet available.
Dr. Fitzgerald says if you have a positive result, you will get a phone call from a public health official with medical guidance on how to treat COVID-19 at home, and if or when to seek further medical attention.
Even if you test negative, you are still required to self-isolate for 14-days.
It can take up to five-days to receive your test results.
