Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says the contact tracing now includes people who may have been exposed 48 hours prior to the onset of symptoms.
She says approximately ten per cent of viral infections may be transmitted up to 48 hours prior to the onset of obvious symptoms. With that information, they have expanded their contact tracing.
919 people have looked up their COVID-19 test results online, freeing up public health officials to continue contact tracing. However, Dr. Fitzgerald says only negative results are available online.
If you test positive, you will be contacted by a public health official who will provide instructions on self-isolation and how to manage your illness at home.
