Security checkpoint have been set up at the entry to the Miawpukek First Nation reserve as a measure to protect the residents from COVID-19.
As of Sunday, 24 hour security staff will be on hand.
Non-members of the reserve will not be allowed to enter without an issued permit.
In a release, the reserve stated that only businesses and suppliers who provide essential goods and services will be granted a permit.
All non-band members residing or working on the reserve will be asked to provide their names to establish a list of people exempt from the permit process.
They say that all band members must show their status card upon entry.
