Premier Dwight Ball stands by the decision to discontinue family visitation and supervised access for children and youth in care.
Although difficult decisions have to be made, Ball stated they are done so with advice from the Chief Medical Officer to limit the spread of COVID-19..
Ball says he understands that the decisions being made are not perfect and can be tough, but he says the other option, losing a loved one, would be far harder to deal with.
He says he wants nothing more than to see people spend more time with their families, but this will be a long journey.
The Premier says the decision will only be reinstated when it is safe to do so.
