Three more cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the province yesterday, all in the Eastern Health region.
The provincial government is taking a break from its daily COVID-19 updates for the long holiday weekend and will resume its daily broadcast on Monday at 2:00 p.m.
In the meantime, the latest numbers will still be released by news release and online at 2:00 each day through the weekend.

Health Minister John Haggie indicates that the provincial peak in cases may not come until the fall, which will allow the province to prepare the appropriate level of ICU resources and PPE to care for large numbers of people who are critically ill.
If the peak comes sooner than that, public health officials warn the system could become easily overwhelmed like is being seen in some other jurisdictions.
In the meantime, Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are urged to stay home, don’t interact with others outside your household, and limit trips to the store for essentials.
