The CNIB is urging Canadians to be mindful and practice empathy towards those that may face challenges when it comes to physical distancing.
Canadians who are blind or partially sighted – especially those living alone – may need to rely on a sighted guide for urgent needs.
According to the CNIB, Canadians with sight loss are being discriminated against or being placed in dangerous situations.
The foundation is asking business owners, government officials and police officers to be mindful of the challenges faced by these individuals during the pandemic.
The CNIB Foundation is reminding Canadians that physical distancing is impractical for many people who are blind or partially sighted.
