There are two new cases of COVID-19 in the province – both in Western Health. That brings the total number of cases to 244. Nine people are in hospital, three of them in ICU.
The symptom range required has been broadened. The government is also testing people in health care, corrections facilities and other areas.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says we must not let our guard down.

Health Minister John Haggie takes no comfort in yet another day of single digits. He says he’s hearing from hotel operators who have turned down bookings for family gatherings. He has also been sent information on gatherings in various places including New Melbourne and Colliers.
Haggie says looking for loopholes make feel like a short term “buzz” but you’re putting your family and others at risk.

Haggie has already moved to implement a recommendation from Ottawa that workers no longer work across long-term care facilities but be confined to employment in a single facility.
