Labrador Marine is further reducing capacity on the Labrador ferry.
It had been cut back to 53 passengers a couple of weeks ago, but will be further reduced to 20—including the operators.
Only the upper deck will be in use, except for vehicles shipped without a driver. Passengers must remain in their vehicle but leave their doors unlocked and a window open to hear the PA.
Walk-ons will be escorted to a cabin and isolated for the duration of the trip. Passengers in need of service should blow their horn, and those needing to go the washroom will be escorted to and from by a crewmember.
Shore leave for the crew of the Kamutik W has been canceled.
Company president and CEO Peter Woodward says traffic has slowed considerably since the essential travel rules came into place.
