The Deputy Mayor of St. John’s has come up with a suggestion for people who really need to get out and enjoy the outdoors during this time of social distancing.
Reports are coming in about high numbers of people taking to popular metro-area walking trails, like Quidi Vidi Lake and Mundy Pond.

Sheilagh O’Leary knows people need to get out and walk and she’s suggesting that people consider taking to circular routes with one thing in mind; “Stay safe and wise, Keep it clockwise.” She says by all going in the same direction, you avoid congestion on the trails and passing others coming in the opposite direction.
She expects hikers and joggers will see signs to remind people to head in the same direction to start popping up around some popular routes in the coming days.
Are you a walker, need fresh air & to destress from Covid? During these challenging #covid19nlfd times, here’s a suggestion to stay safe & 2 metres apart on our city ponds and lakes.
