Canada is going to help companies involved in the oil patch off Newfoundland and Labrador.
A national Emission Reduction Fund of $750-million will help preserve 10,000 jobs Canada-wide according to Prime Minister Trudeau. $75-million of that will go to companies off this province to cut emissions of methane.
$500-million has been set aside to help companies and individuals involved in arts, culture, and sports.
Smaller businesses that don’t have a relationship with a traditional financial institution will see a total of $962-million through regional development agencies and the Community Futures Network. $270-million has been set aside for innovators and start-ups who are not eligible for the wage subsidy program.
