Just when we thought winter was on its way out, another system of messy weather will arrive early tomorrow morning.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Rob Carroll says snow will begin tomorrow morning on the Burin Peninsula and Southern Avalon, making its way towards Central and the west.
He says it will change to rain around suppertime in those areas.
Carroll explains those areas will see 5 to 10 cm of snow before the changeover. The Southern Avalon and Burin Peninsula will see a fair bit of rain – about 20 to 40 mm.
There will be less of a chance for rain in the west. He says there are snowfall warnings in effect for the south coast and surrounding areas.
Northern Peninsula and Labrador are expected to see 15 to 30 cm of snow.
Carroll says this weather is not unusual for mid-April.
He says the province has seen some of the worst storms in April and May in the past. When it snows during this time of year, however it does not stick around because of warmer temperatures.
