The Premier is reiterating that there is no worry around food security for the province after Oceanex was denied a subsidy from the federal government.
The company has reduced the number of trips to St. John’s from the mainland from three to two.
The Premier says they want to make sure every single Newfoundland and Labrador company has the opportunity to be successful coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ball says Oceanex has been an active player and he appreciates the work they’ve been able to do in supplying goods and services to the province.
Further, the Premier reminds people that this is not a cancellation or suspension of services, it’s a reduction as the company looks for ways to save costs and be successful in the future.
