Despite reduced traffic, RCMP are reporting some excessive speeds among the fewer people taking to the province’s roadways.
A 56-year-old St. Anthony man was charged with speeding and his license and vehicle seized after police say he was captured on radar driving 138 km/h in an 80 km/h zone near Rocky Harbour on Saturday.
A 28-year-old man from Happy Valley-Goose Bay was similarly charged after radar readings came back at 139 km/h on the Trans-Labrador Highway on Sunday morning.
The speed limit there is 80 km/h.
