Fire crews made quick work of a kitchen fire in the west end of the capital city last night.
Shortly before 11 p.m., a fire was reported in the kitchen of a basement apartment on Canada Drive. Fire crews arrived and found fire spreading to some cupboards. Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, but not before the kitchen suffered moderate damage.
No one was injured in the fire. However, the two residents of the apartment have been displaced, and are being assisted by the Canadian Red Cross. The upstairs apartment was unaffected by the fire.
