Monday’s daily provincial COVID-19 update will provide some new projection models.
On April 8, Dr. Proton Rahman—a clinical scientist and Professor of Medicine at Memorial University—shared numbers on the potential impact of COVID-19 on the province’s health care system if public health measures are not taken seriously.
They showed that it would not take much to overwhelm existing health care resources.
At the time, government officials were extremely concerned about gatherings over the Easter weekend.
Premier Dwight Ball says they invited Dr. Proton Rahman back for Monday’s update.
It’s been two weeks since Good Friday, and a full week of no new confirmed cases in the province.
