A local tech company has made a donation of over $300,000 to the Health Care Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Fund.
Initially, Verafin planned to donate $100,000 but when they told their employees that the company would match any contributions from their staff, the sum total of the donation rose to $325,000.
All proceeds to the fund will help Eastern Health hospitals purchase COVID-19 related care items such as ICU beds, mental health supports and frontline staff support.
CEO of Health Care Foundation Paul Snow says they could not provide the fund without the help of the community.
He says if anyone is a position to make a donation, the funds will go directly to hospitals to get through the pandemic.
