For the first time in over a week, health officials have confirmed one new case of COVID-19 in the province. The new case is within the Eastern Health Region, bringing the total number of patients to 257.
This is the first new case of the virus since April 17th.
By region there are 239 cases in Eastern Health, eight in Central Health, six in Labrador-Grenfell Health and four in Western Health.
As of today, there are five people in hospital due to COVID-19 and of those people two are in intensive care.
7,332 people have been tested in the province and there have been three deaths from the virus.
Health Officials are reminding the public to follow all measures put in place by the Chief Medical Officer of Health.
