A 46-year-old man from Port Saunders is facing cocaine trafficking charges after a suspicious package destined for the Northern Peninsula community was flagged by police and postal inspectors.
RCMP and postal inspectors discovered that the package, which originated in Montreal, contained cocaine.
The man picked up the package on Monday, April 27, and was arrested a short time later by police.
Three ounces of cocaine with an estimated street value of $10,000 was seized.
The accused was released to appear in court at a later date. The investigation continues.
