A survey of Atlantic Canadians shows very high compliance with public health directives regarding COVID-19.
Narrative Research has conducted a number of recent surveys, one of which shows that most of those who were asked support the public health orders in place.
95 per cent of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians approve of the actions of Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald in her approach to containing the virus. That’s the highest approval rating in the region.
Meanwhile, 90 per cent of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians asked support the actions of Premier Dwight Ball.
100 per cent of those in the province indicated they are practicing social distancing, while far fewer—55 per cent—indicate they wore gloves or a protective mask in public areas.
When it comes to daily activities, 77 per cent of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians asked indicated they had gone shopping for groceries in the last week, while 42 per cent had visited a pharmacy. Nine per cent indicated that they had visited family or friends in the previous week.
The survey on people’s behaviours can be found at this link, while the survey on people’s satisfaction with the government response can be found here.
We are happy to report that Atlantic Canadians show a very high level of compliance with directives when it comes to flattening the curve. Let’s continue to demonstrate responsible behaviour and continue to #flattenthecurve. pic.twitter.com/LfzwYmdGi3
