The minister responsible for tourism in Newfoundland and Labrador says he has been told by the federal government that the Canadian Forces Snowbirds ‘cross-the-country’ salute will include Newfoundland and Labrador.
The original plan outlined in a news release stated that the tour would start this weekend in Nova Scotia, and work westward throughout the week. St. John’s South-Mount Pearl MP Seamus O’Regan says they sought clarification from Ottawa as soon as they spotted the confusion. DND is arranging for a clarification of the news release.
We are heading across the country to salute all Canadians doing their part to fight the spread of Covid-19. Our routes (posted here!) will target hospitals and residential neighbourhoods. More: https://t.co/zp8vIoDVnm. #cfsnowbirds #rcaf #ThankYouHealthWorkers pic.twitter.com/z4K3UhcfY8

The team’s signature nine-jet formation, trailing white smoke, will fly over cities across the country.
The team will release locations, routes, and times on their social media platforms each day. They will minimize any interactions with people outside of the team.
The Canadian Forces asks that people observe the flyovers from their home, and refrain from traveling to find a more favourable vantage point.
