The construction industry wants to see government create an economic recovery task force to establish a plan to generate construction activity while at the same time keeping workers safe.
Trades NL and the Construction Labour Relations Council have written Premier Dwight Ball to put together a phased-in plan for construction projects.

Terry French, president of the association, is aware of the challenges but believes there are opportunities in the industry with proper planning and testing.
Darrin King of Trades NL says the task forced would work with hydro, mining, and oil and gas developers to kick-start or restart projects.
