RCMP continue to see high speeds among drivers across the province and wonder why drivers are in such a rush.
At 4:00 p.m. on Monday, RCMP ticketed a 31-year-old Paradise man for driving 170 km/h on the Witless Bay Line. His license was suspended, and his vehicle impounded.
Then, at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, RCMP ticketed a 24-year-old Deer Lake man for driving 161 km/h in a 90 km/h zone just outside Corner Brook.
Police are reminding the public that even though the consequences of driving actions are always important to consider, there are more things at play now.
If someone ends up hospitalized, they are not permitted visitors, and all emergency responders are at unnecessary risk for COVID-19.
