Hiking trails that begin and end in the Town of Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove have been busy lately leading to issues with parking in the town.

Mayor Bert Hickey says hikers have been parking on two sides of the roads leading to Cobblers Path, potentially preventing emergency vehicles from getting through.

Hickey says it has become a major concern for residents. The town has taken action by installing signage.

Unfortunately, he says the parking lot will be treated as a first-come, first-served situation and if the lot is full, hikers should pick another trail head.

Vehicles parked outside the designated area will run the risk of being ticketed and/or towed.
