Some workers in the country who are considered essential are going to get a raise.

Ottawa has reached an agreement with all provinces and territories to increase the pay packet for some low-wage earners who are risking their lives. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is unable to say how much the increase will amount to as it will be different per jurisdiction.

The feds, who are leaving it up to the sub-national governments to decide who gets the top-up, will send them $4-billion, but they will have to put up money as well.

He’s confident that the provinces and territories will do the right thing.
