A man is in custody following a tense situation on the Burin Peninsula that kept everyone indoors for a short time.
Numerous RCMP vehicles descended on the Harbour Drive area of Lawn late this morning. Marked cars, unmarked cars, two paddy wagons, and an ambulance were also on scene.
A few minutes later, people in the area were told to stay in their homes, and then shortly after that, RCMP gave the all-clear for people to resume normal activities.
Residents in the community can resume their normal activities. The RCMP thanks the public for their cooperation and the media for its assistance. There is no concern for public safety at this time. The investigation is continuing. 2/2
