Stingray has announced an injection of $15-million in advertising to help jumpstart the Canadian Economy.
Although it is a national program, the strength will be seen on a local level. The availability and timing of the funding will vary from province-to-province with intricate details to follow in the coming days and weeks.
The senior vice-president of revenue for Stingray Radio, Scott Broderick, says there are people on the ground in local communities who will have their finger on the pulse for the funding.
Broderick says that these are the people that have put food on tables for decades, and 70 to 80 per cent of their business comes from local businesses.
Stingray has known for a long time that “before they can draw from the stream, they have to contribute to the stream.” Broderick says right now, that “stream” has been reduced to a trickle so the funding will help get things started again.
