Municipal parks in the capital city reopen today, but physical distancing rules still apply.
Robin Hood Bay reopens for residential use, however they’re asking residents to visit the site on designated days based on the first letter of their surname:
- MONDAY: Surnames A-E
- TUESDAY: Surnames F-J
- WEDNESDAY: Surnames K-O
- THURSDAY: Surnames P-T
- FRIDAY: Surnames U-Z
Green Depots reopen but everyone will have to have an account in order to get their money.
The parks will reopen for walk-through only. Advisory signage has been posted at entrances and throughout parks, while the city has constructed barriers to restrict access to some areas—such as playgrounds.
The City says all picnic areas remain closed. Tables have been wrapped in caution tape, and portable tables removed. The duck pond in Bowring Park will remain closed.
Community gardens have reopened, with restrictions in place.
One-directional travel signs have been posted on trails that don’t allow for two-metre separation for users.
Gatherings of ten or more people have been prohibited in municipal parks—following guidelines from the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health.
Community centres remain closed, along with all playgrounds, courts, dog parks, skate parks and outdoor sports facilities—including pools, splash pads and beaches.
Both regulated and informal sports that require contact, including team sports are prohibited.
