A 52-year-old Burin Peninsula man is facing charges including impaired driving causing bodily harm after a woman was run over and injured in Little Bay East last night.
Burin Peninsula RCMP received a report around 7:15 last night that a woman had been run over by a vehicle in the community. She was taken to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre and transferred to the Health Sciences for treatment.
Police say Percy Clarke left the scene, but was located minutes later at his home. He was taken into custody and breath samples he provided were more than twice the legal limit.
Clarke has been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and careless storage of firearms.
