Tributes are pouring in for a well-respected physician and surgeon who passed away on the weekend.
Dr. Y.K. Jeon—who came to the province in 1966—established himself in the area of Bonavista North now known as New-Wes-Valley, and made a huge impact.
In 2015, the local health care centre in Brookfield was named in his honour.
Dr. Jeon passed away on Sunday at the age of 91.
Fellow surgeon and Health Minister John Haggie paid tribute to Dr. Jeon during yesterday’s daily provincial COVID-19 update.
Haggie says Dr. Jeon was loved by his patients, and passed on his passion for medicine to his children. “From a grateful province to a grieving family, we remember him” Haggie offered fondly.
