Discussions are underway among some Atlantic Canadian provinces about developing a possible regional bubble in July—but it’s unlikely that Newfoundland and Labrador will be joining that bubble just yet.
Newfoundland and Labrador, PEI, and New Brunswick have all seen very few new cases in the last little while, but Premier Dwight Ball says Nova Scotia is in a very different position.
North Sydney in Nova Scotia is a main point of entry into Newfoundland and Labrador. Ball indicates there is a very big concern about opening the borders and re-introducing the virus to the province.
He says other provinces like Quebec, Ontario, and Nova Scotia are seeing much higher numbers and a cautious approach needs to be taken.
