For the eighth consecutive day, Newfoundland and Labrador has identified no new cases of COVID-19. The last time the province had any new cases was last Thursday.
In Friday’s update, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janice Fitzgerald announced that the total number of cases in this province has been reduced by one, to 260. That, as one of the previous positive cases has been labeled “inconclusive.”
The bulk of cases have been identified in the Eastern Health region with 243.
There are only nine active, identified cases in the province. Of those, three people are in hospital and one is in the ICU. Three people have died in connection with the virus.
A total of 10,346 people have been tested so far, as follows:
- Eastern Health: 7,485
- Central Health: 904
- Western Health: 1,395
- Labrador-Grenfell Health: 491
