The federal government is extending the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy for another three months. That means it will be in place until at least the end of August. That program provides assistance to companies that choose to retain their employees.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also announced today that they are looking at the eligibility requirements, particularly that companies and organizations have to show a 30 per cent decline in revenue caused by COVID-19.
Ottawa is giving $450-million to researchers to ensure their work continues.
