The opening of the new core science building at MUN will be delayed thanks to COVID-19.
Memorial University President Vianne Timmons says although work continues, construction delays caused by the virus mean everything is pushed back.
She’s hoping that federal infrastructure funding will help with deferred maintenance.
Beautification of MUN’s campus is one of the projects she’s looking at.
“I want people, when they walk through the campus, to feel pride of place,” says Timmons. Some buildings have become tired and need to be refreshed, she says, and they have to figure out where to find the money for campus beautification.
