The residents at Alderwood Estates Retirement Centre in Witless Bay are celebrating every small victory by the province with music and dance.
This week, their version of the Ode to Newfoundland, led by 100-year-old Nora Normore from St. Vincents, was one of their highlights.
Renee Houlihan Recreation Director at the home says she hopes it brightens people’s days as much as it brightened theirs.
Meanwhile, some people are using the long weekend as an opportunity to thank the government officials that have been leading the charge against the COVID-19 pandemic.
