A 30-year-old man has been taken to hospital for burns and smoke inhalation following a fire on Barachois Street in St. John’s
Crews were called to the scene around 1 p.m.
St. John’s Regional Fire Department says the man heard a “pop” when the fire broke out just inside the main doorway of the home.
The home sustained considerable damage.
The exact cause of the blaze has not been determined.
