A ceremony will take place in France tomorrow to mark the 76th anniversary of the D-Day landings at Juno Beach.
The ceremony will be broadcast live from the beach where Canadian soldiers landed in Normandy, with a limited live audience.
Juno Beach was one of five beaches in German-occupied France on which allied troops landed on D-Day – June 6th, 1944. The Canadian effort at Juno Beach is considered the most strategically successful of the D-Day landings, despite some 2,000 casualties.
The ceremony will take place tomorrow morning at 8:30 Newfoundland time.
