Thousands gathered outside Confederation Building yesterday to show support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
Protests, rallies and marches have been happening around the world, sparked by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25. Four police officers have since been charged in his death.
Yesterday’s message was one repeated numerous times in recent days in a growing awareness of the injustices, prejudice and racism faced by the black community.

The message “Black Lives Matter” means not accepting injustice and speaking out against it said one of the speakers.
Participants took a knee and held a moment of silence in memory of Floyd and black lives lost due to systemic racism.
