With the COVID-19 numbers low in the province, a beacon, erected as a symbol of hope is being taken down.
The star at Signal Hill, which normally shines over the capital city during the Christmas season, was lit in March as a symbol of encouragement and hope through the pandemic.
It’s being removed today for repairs and maintenance and will be lit once again next Christmas.
The #SignalHillStar⭐ will be turned off on Friday June 12th as we begin the process of removing the star for annual repairs and maintenance.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to lighting the star once again during the holiday season. #InThisTogether! pic.twitter.com/7Wacw0awwU
