The Canada Emergency Response Benefit will be extended for another eight weeks.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the economy is recovering from the mass closures required to fight the spread of COVID-19 but there’s a long way to go.
Trudeau says even as the country begins to re-open, a lot of people still need the CERB to pay their bills while they look for work.
He says if people are unable to get back to work right away, they will continue to receive the $2,000 a month.
