Employees of Dominion in Newfoundland are going to take a strike vote late next month.
The union and company have been at odds for months, primarily because of salary and status.
Unifor says most workers have been relegated to part-time, even though they work full-time hours.
They had been given at $2-per-hour top-up during the pandemic, but that is now going to be taken away. Unifor says it should be maintained forever.
Union official Linda McNeil says the 1300 employees on the island deserve that and much more.
The strike vote takes place the last two weeks of July.
In the meantime, McNeil says they are planning a virtual rally in support of the workers.
It will be tomorrow at 2:30 NDT. McNeil says this is the time to show support for the workers.
