We should find out today whether the House of Assembly accepts or rejects recommendations from a tribunal to give Provincial Court judges a pay raise, worth about 7.5 per cent.
Justice Minister Andrew Parsons says if they don’t grant the increase, the judges will simply do as they did a few years ago – take the province to court.

However, politicians on the other side of the House do not believe that judges would go that route this time given the times that we find ourselves in with the pandemic.
Today is expected to be the last day of the current sitting but proceedings will resume in late summer to bring down a budget. Government has been living on Interim Supply since April.
