Nicholas Flowers, a grade 12 student from Amos Comenius Memorial School in Hopedale, received not one, but two scholarships valued at $25,000 each.

Flowers received the STEAM Horizon Award as well as the MUN Alumni Entrance Scholarship.

A lover of science, Flowers created an after school science club in an effort to inspire a passion for science with younger students – this, among many other science-related and leadership-oriented activities, helped him acquire the two scholarships.

Flowers will use the money from the scholarships to pursue his post-secondary studies; he plans on getting a degree in Environmental Sciences at MUN’s Grenfell campus in Corner Brook.
