A man who has an immune system disorder says he and his wife will be forced back into self-isolation with the opening of the Atlantic Bubble Friday.
Vernon Duffy has Sjogren’s syndrome. He and his wife self-isolated for three months when the pandemic hit, and it’s only in recent days that they have felt safe enough to venture outside their home.
He says the disorder has resulted in other health problems. Most of his doctor’s appointments were cancelled, and he can’t get any information on necessary follow-up appointments.
He’s been trying to get in touch with his respirologist for over a month to discuss changes identified in his latest scan, but with no luck.
He’s disappointed with the opening of the Atlantic Bubble.
He says starting Friday, he and his wife will have to go back into self-isolation because they can’t afford to take any chances.
