The MP for St. John’s East made his first public appearances this week since announcing that he was going through treatment for cancer and was going to work from home.
Jack Harris laid a wreath in Torbay on Canada Day and spoke at the official opening of the pedestrian mall in downtown St. John’s yesterday. He has finished the treatment period, and says he feels good.
Harris began working from home around the time many others did because of the pandemic, so the transition was not as difficult as it might normally have been. Plus he did not have to skip public events as most were either scrapped outright or carried out in a virtual format.
While he does not view himself as being immuno-compromised, Harris says it its important for him to wear a mask to help prevent those who are vulnerable from getting COVID-19.
