A Newfoundland-based tech company has grown significantly in the last number of years, and they’ve just secured the funds to push that growth even further.
Mysa Smart Thermostats has received $6.2-million in joint funding from existing investors like Venture NL, with $3-million of that total from new investors the Business Development Bank of Canada.
This money will allow the company – which specializes in smart thermostats for baseboard and in-floor heaters – to research and develop new heating and cooling energy saving products.
Mysa CEO Josh Green says more support for the local tech sector gives his company a huge confidence boost to continue fighting climate change.
Green says this funding will also allow for more jobs at the company.
He says even in the face of a global pandemic, the company is currently hiring, and will be posting more jobs in the next six months and into next year.
