Conception Bay South is getting a new park. The town, province and federal government are each pitching in about $900,000 to develop the area behind Dominion in Long Pond.
The project will include an inclusive accessible playground and a dual-recreational, year-round surface, which will be a splash pad in summer and ice rink in the winter.
In addition, the park will include washroom facilities, a stage, a walking trail, parking spaces and subsequent civil and electrical work needed for the park.
The facility will be completed in various phases. Mayor Terry French says phase one and two will begin immediately.
