The Legionnaire is back in St. John’s awaiting repairs to its bow thruster.
Parts are currently being sourced from overseas.
The ferry was built by Damon Shipyards in Romania and delivered to the province in 2015, but she and her sister ship the Veteran, have been plagued with mechanical issues almost from the start.
The department of Transportation and Works says the Legionnaire has been replaced by the Beaumont Hamel, which will operate alongside the Flanders.
