The ECHL is looking at a December start to the hockey season, but that is not carved in stone.
If all goes according to plan, the season would begin December 4 and cover a full 72 games. The season would normally have begun October 16.
ECHL Commissioner Ryan Crelin says while they are eager to return to hockey, they believe the decision is prudent for the safety of players, employees, and fans.
The Newfoundlander Growlers are the defending Kelly Cup champions.
